She is a model, an actress, with angelic face and enviable "long legs". She's been on catwalks, red carpets, rostrums, Olympics, records... Amy Mullins, named one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world by People magazine, has no legs.

In 1976, an ordinary but extraordinary little girl was born in Pennsylvania, USA. However... This "love beauty" little sister, suffered from congenital fibula deformity, born without fibula. As an infant, both legs were amputated below the knee. A woman born without legs, no matter how high the level of appearance, life is inseparable from the wheelchair crutches, doomed to escape the destruction of reality, sounds like a terrible tragic story. However, her parents' common heart made her never feel that she was a "freak".

 

 

Aimee's mother told her: "You were born to experience something different, and tears will turn to diamonds." The words of mother's let her try hard. She hasn't spent a day in a wheelchair. At the age of two, he learned to walk and run with prosthetic legs. She loves sports and is a good skier and sprinter. Not only is Aimee a good player, but she's also an excellent student. She double-majored in history and diplomacy at Georgetown University and won an scholarship easily. Who also was the protege of former President Bill Clinton. Getting into the former president's prestigious school was not much of a boast for her, as she was also the first double amputee to compete in the first NCAA track and field meet.

At the age of 21, she competed in the Atlanta Paralympics and set two world records in the long jump of 3.14 meters and the 100-meter dash of 17.01 seconds. After his retirement, Aimee's life did not stop. She chose to break into film and television, taking commercials, modelling, walking the catwalk and even appearing in fashion wizard Alexander McQueen's catwalk. Aimee's presence on the runway at McQueen's London show in 1999 was such a hit that the talented designer hailed her as a Muse. Aimee has 12 legs, custom-made by different people, carved in wood, cyber-inspired, nude, cheetah-like... In the morning, like shoes, she chooses a partner that matches her heart. In the evening, she would give her "beautiful legs" bath, carefully wipe, careful care.

 

 

In the studio, she jokes about them, but to her children, she honestly confesses, "Beauty comes from within. Without legs, you can't live without spiritual wings." In fact, the existence of prosthetic limbs is no longer just to overcome congenital obstacles, but also to stimulate human potential.
