Steeper Win Second Supply Chain Excellence Award

Huge congratulations to the Steeper Supply Chain Team, who have fought off seven other contenders to win the Konica Minolta Supply Chain Operations Award for Continuous Improvement. With companies such as Domestic & General, Jaguar Land Rover, Nespresso & GXO and Lilys Kitchen & Howards Tenens Logistics in the running, taking home such a prestigious award demonstrates the incredible hard work delivered over the last two years.
What is the Supply Chain Excellence Awards?
The Supply Chain Excellence Awards launched 29 years ago, with the aim to recognise and reward businesses for outstanding achievements in supply chain management, and to celebrate and build professional networks within the industry.
Similar to the previously won award for Operation Process in 2023, the Supply Chain Team entered a comprehensive submission which was then presented to the judging panel. The presentation addressed challenges faced within various departments, outlined the steps taken to overcome these issues, and highlighted comparative results from previous years. The judges were extremely impressed with the operational transformation, which secured the team’s place as finalists for this prestigious award.
A Celebratory Night in Mayfair
On Thursday 6th November, Supply Chain Director, Michelle Wright, Stores Manager, Nicola Barker, and Customer Services Manager, Lisa Gill attended the 29th Supply Chain Excellence Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House in London to represent the Supply Chain Team.
When Steeper was announced as winner of the Continuous Improvement Award, all three were over the moon and headed to the stage to collect their trophy. One of the judges commented “They don’t know how good they are. They improved processes, not because it was asked of or even possibly required, but they did it because it was the right thing to do, and that is very impressive.”
Reflecting on the Evening
Back at Steeper HQ to present the award to their teams, Nicola, Lisa and Michelle reflected on how proud they were of their team and the collective effort that made winning this award possible.
“When Steeper was announced as the winner, we couldn’t believe it! It was an unforgettable moment, filled with immense pride for us and for our amazing teams who strengthened our processes. We couldn’t stop smiling; in fact, we still are! Our winners’ song was ‘Bulletproof,’ and on the night, that couldn’t have felt more accurate; we truly felt unstoppable. The evening epitomised everything our teams have worked so hard on over the past two years, and I couldn’t be prouder to lead such a passionate and resilient group of people”
