Whenever Ao Zhirong went to the market to sell bamboo weaving, he would come to the market with a cart. He also came that morning, but the crowed had already gone home. Mr. Ao, 67, had his right leg amputated in 2013 after an accident while working at a gold mine in another province. After returning home, he did not want to be idle when he was fitted with prosthetics, so he made some bamboo products to sell at the market, which was also one of his sources of income. Mr. Ao rented a room near the market to store carts and woven bamboo products for 200 yuan a year. "Business is not good. Sometimes we can't sell one a day. Sometimes we can sell 20 or 30 yuan a day." Mr. Ao said his home was seven or eight li from the market, and he had to take a motorcycle to get there and back, which cost him 16 yuan. Talking about the self-made prosthesis, Uncle Ao said helplessly that the prosthesis was very worn and broken several times, and he had no money to buy a new one.
